The original Apple Watch is resistant to the impact of humidity and splashes, but the manufacturer does not recommend submerging it. Apple Watch Series 2 models can endure an immersion in water up to 50 meters deep according to the ISO 22810:2010 standard. This enables users to keep the watch on while in a pool or swimming in the ocean.
Nevertheless, one should keep in mind that the Apple Watch Series 2 is not suitable for scuba diving, water skiing or other activities involving immersion to greater depths or contact with high-velocity water. If taken to a depth of 60 meters, your Apple Watch will most likely stop working.
It is important to mention that Apple recommends not exposing smartwatches to soap or soapy water, shampoo, perfume, repellents, sunscreen, lotions, and other chemicals containing products, as they can negatively affect water seals and acoustic membranes.
