In September Apple presented the new Apple Watch. Unfortunately, not much was new about it. In particular, a FaceTime camera, rumored numerous times, was not included. It will perhaps be introduced in a year or two, but waiting won’t be necessary. A strap by Glide will let two cameras at once appear on your wrist.
The strap, named CMRA, is already available for pre-order. The first customers will get it for $149. Wait a little and the price will rise to $199, and then to $249, which is the retail price. But is waiting worth it?
You will get a 2-megapixel frontal camera and an 8-megapixel main camera. The Apple Watch screen will serve as a viewfinder. The strap is completed by a stand that will simultaneously charge both the strap and the watch. CMRA is equipped with 8 GB of built-in memory that will allow the strap to record even when the watch has run out of battery power.
